NCOUC - Group 3

Missing or Unidentified Person

On December 6, 2019, the partially skeletonized remains of an unidentified male were discovered by employees behind a building in an industrial area of Lorton, Fairfax County, Virginia. Estimated to have been between 50 and 65 years old at the time of death, the man was of White/Caucasian or Hispanic/Latino descent, stood approximately 5'5" to 5'10" tall, and had about 1.5 inches of straight gray or partially gray hair. A distinctive physical feature noted was asymmetric facial morphology, with the right side appearing taller than the left, which may have been due to a health condition or natural variation. The postmortem interval was around 8 months, placing the estimated time of death in early to mid-2019. He was found unclothed and without any personal items or accessories. No exclusions have been listed in databases like NamUs or the Doe Network, and the case remains open with involvement from the Fairfax County Police Department and the Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Facial reconstructions have been released to the public to assist in potential identification.
