Brenda Gail Lambert, 22, of Bluewell, West Virginia, was last seen at approximately 9:00 p.m. on July 26, 1992, at her residence on Windmill Hill Road (off Route 7/Lorton Lick Road) in Bluewell, Mercer County, following a birthday party for her one-year-old son. Her estranged husband, Raymond Lambert, attended the party and left with the couple's two children around 8:00 p.m.; the last remaining guests departed the home around 9:00 p.m. Accounts of when Lambert was discovered missing vary by source, with reports to the sheriff's office coming the following day. Her car was found parked in the driveway, and all of her personal belongings, including the clothing she had been wearing, were left inside the home. She was last known to be wearing a short-sleeved blue denim t-shirt, blue denim shorts, and black shoes.
Lambert had filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband on July 8, 1992, which she withdrew two days later; family members reported prior incidents of choking/strangulation. One unnamed male suspect was polygraphed early in the investigation and failed the test but has not been charged. Lambert was legally declared dead by the Mercer County Commission on September 13, 2022. Her case is classified Endangered Missing(presumed deceased).
