Case Details:On December 21, 1996, a custodial worker at the Lillian Vernon mail order warehouse in Virginia Beach, Virginia, discovered the body of a full-term infant female wrapped in a red polo shirt inside a plastic shopping bag hanging in the employee's locker room. A bomb threat had been reported in the warehouse about an hour prior to the discovery of the remains. Police believe that the mother had given birth inside of the facility and killed the baby there, rather than bringing her inside, due to the building's high-security. The red polo shirt was the "Colours" brand with the logo "Sports Athletic Champion" on left breast. The infant was found within days of death, had black hair, weighed five pounds and was 19 inches long. At the time, there were approximately 4,000 employees at the warehouse facilities. In 2016, there were renewed efforts to identify the mother and several DNA swabs were taken. The decedent is referred to as "Baby Hope (December 1996)."
