Donald Ray Whalen, 31, of Las Vegas, Nevada, was last known to be in Fallon, Nevada, on September 3, 1995. Whalen had driven an acquaintance from Las Vegas to Fallon that day and left the same day to return to Las Vegas, where he was scheduled to report for work the following afternoon. He did not arrive and has not been seen or heard from since. Whalen is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 155 pounds, with blond/strawberry hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue T-top, blue jeans, and dark blue tennis shoes, and was wearing a gold earring shaped like a footprint, a necklace with a pendant, and a watch.
On September 11, 1995, Whalen's vehicle was located stuck in sand at a remote site approximately 12 miles north of Fallon. An extensive search of the area was conducted at the time of Whalen's disappearance. No trace of Whalen has been recovered, and no further public updates on his whereabouts have been reported in the three decades since. The case remains open.
