David Paul Ruggiero, a resident of Huron, South Dakota, was 38 years old when he was reported missing after being last seen north of Huron on November 12, 2012. Little information about the circumstances of his disappearance has been publicly released, and he has not been heard from since. Ruggiero is a white male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighed approximately 140 pounds at the time of his disappearance, with brown hair, brown eyes, and a scar on his right arm. He was reportedly wearing a navy blue jacket, blue jeans, and brown hiking or work boots. Ruggiero is an insulin-dependent diabetic, and it is not known whether he had his medication with him when he went missing. Following his disappearance, his pickup truck was found north of Huron, south of South Dakota Highway 28, near the James River.
The case is being investigated by the Huron Police Department and the Beadle County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been publicly named in connection with Ruggiero's disappearance.
