Fugitive From Justice
Jeffrey Dean McDaniel (also known as Jeffrey Dean McDaniel, Jr., and Jeffrey D. McDaniel), born March 14, 1967, is wanted in Placer County, California, for his alleged repeated sexual contact with a minor female relative -- his own daughter, per news reporting -- beginning in 1998, when she was thirteen years old. According to reporting on the case, McDaniel had left his wife and newborn daughter in 1984 and had no further contact with her until 1998, when she was 14 and he re-established contact; investigators describe the relationship that followed as manipulative and predatory. In September 1998, McDaniel left the area with the girl; her whereabouts were unknown until she was located in Mexico in September 2000.
The FBI's Sacramento Field Office leads the fugitive investigation, charging McDaniel with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution -- Sex Crimes and Child Custody Deprivation. McDaniel is believed to be living in Mexico. He is described as a white male, 5'11", 190 pounds, brown hair and eyes, with an extensive set of documented tattoos, and the FBI notes he may be working in the computer industry and may have an interest in tattoo artistry. Identifiers: NCIC W071628428. Anyone with information is asked to contact their local FBI field office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate.
