Agency:NCOUC - Group 3
Case Type:Missing or Unidentified Person
Case Details:Kerry Lynelle Johnson, a 17-year-old White female, disappeared in 1982 after leaving her home in Salem, Oregon. She hitchhiked to Reno, Nevada, to visit a relative, and then continued on to San Jose, California, to see a friend. On September 14, 1982, she made a phone call to a family member, stating that she was leaving California and heading back to Nevada, with plans to return home to Salem by October 1, 1982. She was last reported traveling on foot, alone, and possibly carrying a blue suitcase. Kerry never arrived as planned and has not been heard from since. At the time of her disappearance, Kerry was 5 foot 8 inches tall, weighed approximately 160 pounds, and had brown hair and blue eyes. She had a distinctive gait due to feet that turned slightly inward, which made running difficult, and a faint scar near one eye from previous stitches. Her case is classified as an endangered missing person.
