Stanley Brian Garretson was born January 22, 1965, in Olympia, Washington. He spent most of his life in Olympia and preferred to go by his middle name, Brian. On October 9, 2020, Brian left Olympia for California to begin a new truck‑driving job. The last known contact with him occurred in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 14, 2020. His last recorded financial transaction took place in Las Vegas on October 21, 2020. At the time he went missing, Brian was a 55 year-old white male, had gray or partially gray hair, green eyes, and had two forearm tattoos—one of a crab and one of a fish. Brian was approximately 6'4" tall and weighed around 260 pounds.
On February 15, 2021, the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an abandoned vehicle in a rural area of White Pine County near Lund, Nevada, roughly 200 miles north of Las Vegas. The vehicle was recovered, towed to a local agency, and was confirmed to be Brian's car. Search and rescue teams conducted multiple searches around the location where the vehicle was found, but were unable to locate Brian.
