Fugitive From Justice

Miguel Angel Hermosillio-Alcaraz, born August 26, 1967, in Mexico City, Mexico, is wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the April 20, 2003 shooting death of his ex-girlfriend in Greenville, South Carolina. According to investigators, Hermosillio-Alcaraz followed the victim to the parking lot of an apartment complex, where he shot her in the head and chest while she was seated in her vehicle with her child present. A Greenville County, South Carolina arrest warrant charging him with murder was issued the same day. Hermosillio-Alcaraz, who worked as a manager at a textile manufacturing plant, fled the area following the shooting and has not been located since.

A federal arrest warrant charging Hermosillio-Alcaraz with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was issued by the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina on October 6, 2003, and the FBI's Columbia Field Office has led the investigation since that time. Hermosillio-Alcaraz is known to use numerous name variations, including Miguel Angel Hermosillio, Miguel A. Alcaraz, Miguel A. Hermosillo-Alcaraz, and Angel Miguel Alcaraz, among others, and the FBI states he has ties to Hendersonville, North Carolina and Mexico City, Mexico. He remains an active fugitive as of this entry and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate.
